The history of Verdissimo France began in PARIS, in 1988.
Verdissimo was the exclusive french importer of an italian company producing preserved plants.
Some years later, a new company set up, S.E.V.S, European Company of Preserved Botanicals.
In 1991, thanks to new financials partners, a new factory is born beneath the sun of South of France, in Venelles, by Aix-en-Provence.
A strategic site which leads Verdissimo to the availability of typical mediterranean botanical species and easier supplies of fresh flowers from the southern Europe markets.
The new fitting is designed for producing big quantities and has a very sophisticated quality control system.
A good knowledge of the product allows the new team to rapidly enter an industrialisation phase.
The factory started its production in september 1991 with about 40 items. Today Verdissimo proposes more than 200 referencies and it's growing fast, enlarging its ranges. After developing its trading network in Europe, Verdissimo lands in USA. In june 1995, after a year research into the american market, Verdissimo sets up its subsidiary, VDI inc., in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1994, Verdissimo signs a joint venture with Dofal s.a., a spanish company, and becomes its major shareholder.
As the only company specialized in botanicals preservation, Verdissimo mainly sells its products to floral and indoor decoration wholesalers.
Among its products: flowers, foliage, trees, citrus fruit and even decoration and gift objetcs made with preserved botanicals as well as a transparent resin to create a "water effect" for all floral arrangements and bouquets. |
