The International Floriculture Trade Fair (IFTF) is one of the most important trade fairs in the floriculture sector. This exhibition of flowers and plants takes place in Holland and is specially dedicated to large consumers and wholesalers of these products.
Clients from all over the world attended this trade fair, for example from Asia, the Americas, Europe…and they were given a warm welcome from the professionals in the floristry sector.
Also, this is the fourth time that Verdissimo has attended this event in Holland, and each year the reaction from the rest of the participants and clients is increasingly positive.
Verdissimo at the trade fair
Pedro Fuset attended the trade fair in Holland as the person responsible for the design and execution of Verdissimo’s floral compositions.
He created a spectacular parrot mainly using Verdissimo’s preserved roses in shades of green, blue, red, and yellow. Also, on the base of the parrot, some foliage was used which gave a much more natural and realistic look to the composition. The foliage was mainly amaranth and palm leaves, all of which was on a base of tree branches.
With the parrot figure, Verdissimo wanted to create a truly tropical ambience, inspired by the country that their flowers originate from: Colombia.
Holland and flowers
Holland, the country known for tulips, is still one of the largest producers and exporters of cut flowers.
Flowers are not only an important part of the country’s economy, but are also an integral part of Holland’s culture.
It’s easy to experience their customs if you go to one of the flower markets, some of which have been around for centuries. From Verdissimo, we’ll tell you which markets are the most important and where in the country they are located.
First, in Amsterdam, check out the floating flower market which is held on the Singelo canal. Also worth mentioning is Janskerkhof Square and the Oudegracht in Utrech.
At Verdissimo, you’ll find a large variety of preserved flowers and plants, perfect for interior decoration.
